Belarus opposition chief takes home Sakharov Prize

Alexander Milinkevich has picked up his honour for human rights work, the Sakharov Prize, in the European Parliament. The Belarussian democratic opposition leader accepted it on behalf of all those who have fought to rid their country of authoritarian rule. In March, Milinkevich ran unsuccessfully against incumbent president Alexander Lukashenko, who claimed victory in an election internationally condemned as rigged.

The physics scholar-turned-politician comes from a long line of defenders of national freedom. Speaking in his native language, he said:

"Soon Belarus will come back into the European family, and will again become a free and democratic state. Dictatorships have no prospects in history; and, as history shows, tyrants come to a sad end. The only real choice under the conditions of a dictatorship is to fight. We simply have no other choice. Thank you for your support. Long live Belarus!"

Even the existence os signs that were saying that the show was only a simlulation, during one hour, there were news, images of flemish flags, trafict in the suposed new border and potical coments.

Some diplomatic representatives even contacted the prime ministre Guy Verhofstad, to confirm the news.

Belgium is divided in two regions, each with five provinces and a 3rd region, the capital Brussels, Flandrs e a Wallonia. In Flandrs the oficial language is Dutch and in Wallonia it's French.

Turkey Vs E.U.

Turkey the question of the moment...

The European Commision recomended a little while ago the parcial suspension of the conversations with turey about its joining in the EU, to protest agains the ankara inercia to open up its aerports and ports to cyprus, a membre of the european union.

Turkey knowed perfectly what its going to be when cyprus joined in, in 2004.

Well, I'm not going to talk any more about that, or else i would have a huggggeeeeeeee articule....

Enlargement of the European Union

In january 2007 two more countries will join the european familly,
Bulgaria and Romenia,


passing from 25 members to 27.

In january 2007 also, Slovenia join the Euro Zone passing to use euros :D, the euro zone is going to be 13 members, hopefully the number dosen't bring any bad luck, it has been established by the Consel of União Europeia the foreign exchange reference rates of Tolar in 239,640 by each Euro.
